We had a wonderful Christmas. Nothing too extravagent. Marty got me THE coat I wanted and also a few other things, and I got a few things from my parents, too! I loved everything I got! I also got Marty the coat he wanted! He had no idea! I was VERY sneaky! I LOVED the look on his face :) He got a few other things too and my parents got him a big box of ammo! Declan got some much needed age appropriete toys! He had MUCH more fun trying to eat all the paper! Haha silly kid. All my brothers and sisters went in together to get my mom a deluxe Kitchenaide! She was SHOCKED and sooo excited! That was definitely a highlight of our Christmas :)
We went to Utah for New Years Eve! We had a big family party at my sister Sam's house. Marty's nephew Tyler (who is 21) came with us! We had so much fun! I really just LOVE being around my family! We always have such a good time! I just realized I use a lot of exclamation points!!
Declan is going to be turning one next month... I'm excited and happy but at the same time I'm sad. He is just growing sooo fast and it seems like time fly's by in double time!
Some things about Declan at (almost) 11 months:
His favorite foods are bananas, bread, applesause, toaster waffles, cheese, and basically anything that come off of our plates!
He has been wanting to feed himself lately. Unless it is something liquidy (like applesause) or too mushy to be picked up with just his hands, then he won't eat it off of a spoon! (And if I can coax it into his mouth, he usually will spit it out and put it back in himself... little goof!)
He LOVES LOVES LOVES water! Seriously! This boy loves water. He loves drinking water, he loves taking baths in water! He is just a water boy!
Declan loves to make us laugh! He does these silly things all the time to try to make us laugh (and oh boy does it work!) He is my little comedian and I absolutely love every minute of it!
He is walking!!! He doesn't walk exclusively. It is still much faster for him to crawl, since he is a little speedy crawler, so he still perfers that. BUT, he is definitely walking! Its a little crazy for me to see! His first (official) steps were on Christmas day!
He loves animals! My parents have two dogs, a yorki mix and a chihuahua, and Declan just adores those dogs! He gets so excited when we walk in their door and the dogs run up to him! Its pretty fun to watch him squeal with excitement!
He is sooo curious about everything! He is always wanting to explore and figure out how things go together and work. He loved looking at cars, trucks, anything with wheels, and looking at how the wheels turn!
He has about a 2 second rebound rate! He usually doesn't cry if he gets a bonk. If it did hurt him (which isn't very often), he will cry til I give him a hug... then he is ready to go play again! He is not a whiney kid, which is very nice!
He's learning how to pick up his toys and put them back in the basket! He's a smart kid!
Ok, I know there is soo much more then that, but he's getting into something :) So I gotta run for today! Everyone have a WONDERFUL January!!
